Who should apply?
The programme caters for medical laboratory scientists who are relatively early on in their career, so as to provide them with a scientific and professional knowledge for future advancement in their careers. It is not meant for general scientific graduates who have not received basic education in medical laboratory science and / or not already engaging in employment in medical laboratory science in Hong Kong. We do not admit students who are resident outside Hong Kong due to the practical and professional nature of the programme.

Entry Requirements
The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree of:
- Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory sciences; OR
- Bachelor of Science in biomedical science; OR
- Bachelor of Science with major in biomedical science or other related disciples; OR
- Be a registered medical laboratory technologist Part II or Part I.
Applicants with degrees awarded by overseas universities by distance learning or by completing a curriculum of short duration may be required to provide assessment report from the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) on the level of qualification obtained.
Applicants must also fulfill the General Qualifications for Admission and the English Language Proficiency Requirement prescribed by the Graduate School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

(According to CUHK Graduate School regulation, a HK$300 application fee is mandatory for all programmes. All payments go directly to the Graduate School and are non-refundable.)
After having submitted the application via the Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes, applicants are required to upload scanned copies of the following supporting documents to the Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes by the deadline. Photo of the required supporting documents taken by phone or camera will NOT be considered.
If you prefer to submit the supporting documents by mail, please quote the “Application Number” when mailing the required supporting documents to the MLSC Programme Office.

- Copies of Official transcripts and grading schemes of all tertiary level studies*
- Copies of certificates of academic/professional qualifications
- Proof of English Language proficiency*
- Confidential Recommendations/Referee's Report from TWO referees respectively**
- A photocopy of Hong Kong Identity Card or other identity document
- Other documents if any applicable (e.g.: Copies of MLT Board Certificate of Registration)
- Copies of other academic/professional qualifications (if any)

** Applicants are required to invite TWO referees to complete the Confidential Recommendations Report. After successfully submitted the application, you can input information of the TWO referees through the Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes. The University will send invitations for confidential recommendations to the referees.
Application Results
Results will be posted on CUHK Graduate School’s website from March to July. Successful applicants will find their status changed on the system. Applicants may consider their applications unsuccessful if they do not hear from the CUHK Graduate School thereafter.
